Contenedor MAC

Synopsis
El Contenedor MAC is the travelling gallery of Panama's Museum of Contemporary Art: two twenty-foot containers restored by the artist Cisco Merel, one fitted out as an exhibition room and the other as a workshop. They are set down in a square, opened, and the town walks in for free.
The 2019 film follows the first tour, through Chiriquí, Veraguas, Herrera and La Chorrera, with seven works by five artists inside and free art workshops next door. The museum team speaks, the teachers speak, and so do the children seeing a painting for the first time.
The 2024 film presents the whole project: five years on the road and thirteen stops, from Changuinola to Las Tablas.
