Synopsis
«Cabanga» is the album that opened Patricia Vlieg's series «Panamá en el corazón»: fourteen iconic and folk-rooted Panamanian songs, arranged with Popi Spatocco and recorded between September and November 2014 in Buenos Aires, New York and Panama, with Paquito D'Rivera, Lila Downs, Berta Rojas, Mónica Salmaso, Maridalia Hernández, Luna Monti, Juan Quintero and Lilián Saba as guests.
Cine Animal produced the audiovisual side of the project: sixteen films. Thirteen music videos, one per song, plus the making of, the launch of the project in 2015 and the concert in 2017. Each song was given its own form, and the series was shot across the country and inside the theatre.
«Portraits of Her Joy» was directed by Tomás Cortés and shot entirely on 16mm.
